As the name of this program suggests, Aigo DVD Audio Ripper allows you to extract the audio stream of DVD movies and save it to a sound format, namely MP3. It can be easily handled, even by less experienced individuals.
The interface of the application is plain and simple to navigate through. You can import a DVD clip by selecting its source drive or by using the folder view. Unfortunately, you cannot process multiple DVD movies in a single session.
The file list lets you view the title and duration, along with the output name and format of the DVD clip. If you are satisfied with the default settings, then you can directly start the encoding operation by specifying the output directory.
Experienced users can change audio preferences when it comes to the codec, bit rate, sample rate and channel mode. These settings cannot be restored to their standard values.
In addition, you can set Aigo DVD Audio Ripper to open the output directory or to automatically turn off the computer when the task is done, split DVD movies by chapters and open the output folder, as well as select the audio track.
The DVD processing app runs on a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, in order to finish a task in reasonable time. It is very responsive, contains a help file for first-time users and delivers audio tracks with a good sound quality.
On the other hand, you cannot preview tracks in a built-in audio player or specify the thread priority. Other than that, we have not come across any difficulties throughout our testing; Aigo DVD Audio Ripper did not freeze, crash or display error dialogs.
