Regardless of how responsible you are as a student or professional in general, sometimes it can happen that you are simply too tired to hear your alarm and wake up in the morning.

Atrise Wakeup is a small alarm clock program that enables you to set up a more pleasant way to wake up in the morning, namely on one of your best-loved tracks.

The interface is essentially a small window that allows you to set the time and choose the track it should play when it activates.

As far as its functionality is concerned, it can be comparable to a very basic watch alarm. In fact, its only merit is that it forces you to get out of bed and turn it off when the alarm starts playing.

The app can play both audio and video files at the specified time and it supports a wide variety of formats, including OGG, MP4, MKV, AVI and WMV.

While it can get you out of bed during a cold winter morning, the truth is that Atrise Wakeup does not include editing options whatsoever. For instance, it would be nice if you could synchronize it with the calendar so that you can set up alarms for each day of the week.

At the very least, it should allow you to set up more than one alarm at a time, a feature that any smartphone can perform nowadays. Moreover, while a snooze option seems obsolete in this case, it would still be pleasant if the app featured one.

It is important to note that the program does not allow your computer to enter sleep mode, which can be overall inconvenient and can reflect into your energy bill if you are using the app every day.

Even though Atrise Wakeup does its job properly and starts playing your favorite tracks at the specified  hour, it lacks quite a few options an alarm clock should have. All in all, it can be a good choice if you are on the lookout for an alternative awakening method.
