Audio Converter is a tool that enables you to extract the audio stream from FLV, MP4 and WEBM videos and save it to various audio file types, namely MP3, AAC, AC3, FLAC, MP2, OGG, WAV and WMA.
It can also convert them into other video formats, like WMV, MOV, AVI, FLV, MKV, MP4 and MPEG, as well as prepare them for playback compatibility on iPhone, iPod, iPad, Samsung, HTC or other devices.
After a brief setup operation which shouldn't give you any trouble, you're greeted by a standard window with a neatly organized structure, where you can select the source file and output directory, as well as pick the preferred output profile.
Before proceeding with the conversion procedure, it's possible to opt for one of the quality presets (e.g. normal quality, for Kindle), or configure audio and video parameters concerning the format / codec, width and height, frame rate, bit rage, channel mode, and sample rate.
Worth noting is that the source or newly created audio track can be loaded in a built-in media player. It's also possible to auto-close the window, play the new files, open the output folder or turn off the computer on task completion, make the frame stay on top of other applications, overwrite or rename existing files without prompt, as well as to remove Audio Converter's entry from the right-click menu in Windows Explorer.
No error dialogs popped up in our tests and the utility didn't hang or crash. It converted files rapidly, while remaining light on system resources consumption.
All in all, Audio Converter features advanced, yet intuitive tools for creating audio and video files from FLV, MP4 and WEBM videos. It's geared toward all user levels.
