Aurora DVD Copy is a software designed to help you backup and reduce the size of your DVDs.

The interface of the program is based on a wizard in which you have to follow three steps to complete a project.

So, you can specify the source DVD folder by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported).

But you can also select the target (hard disk folder or DVD disc) by specifying the DVD writable device or target path.

In the next step you can set the transfer mode (DVD shrink or full copy) and select the audio, video and subtitle streams.

During the conversion process you can preview the DVD, check out elapsed, total and left time, frames, frame per second values and quantize ratio, along with a progress bar.

The application contains a step-by-step tutorial with snapshots, uses a high amount of system resources and can take a long while to perform a task. The image and sound quality is well kept in the output files. No errors have popped up during our tests and Aurora DVD Copy didn't freeze or crash.

All in all, Aurora DVD Copy is a very good tool for DVD backups but it doesn't offer enough options. For example, you cannot select separate chapters to copy. Also, the demo version is severely limited. Nevertheless, we recommend this app to users of all levels.
