As the name of this program suggests, AutoRun Design Specialty allows you to create and design autorun interfaces for CDs and DVDs.
The layout of the application is uncomplicated; you can work with a sample or start a new project by specifying a CD-ROM base folder and by selecting the pages you want to include (e.g. blank, splash screen, screen background, agreement form).
The app allows you to insert items which come with a wide range of options regarding the labels, links, image buttons, images, system icons, panels, bars and bullets.
Other types of objects include text, scrolling text, memos, rich text, Flash, browsers, media players, AVI, slideshows, radio buttons and check boxes.
So, you can configure a multitude of object settings in regard to the alignment, borders, cursor, hints, comments, graphic comments, mouse sounds, background color, quality, transparency, blur, noise, outlines and shadows, just to name a few.
Project options can be tinkered with, as well; they focus on the project title and hint (e.g. direction, color, border and shadow color, pause time). Additionally, you can apply a CD icon.
The program runs on a low-to-moderate amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and contains user documentation. No error dialogs have been displayed during our tests and AutoRun Design Specialty did not freeze or crash; we have not come across any errors.
All in all, AutoRun Design Specialty provides a wide range of features and customization options for building and designing autorun interfaces. Less experienced users may require some time to get acquainted with the app.
