CD Cover Plus is a small Windows application that features editing capabilities for helping you shape up covers and labels for CDs and DVDs with the aid of multiple layers and special effects.

The layout is not quite intuitive, so rookies may spend some time trying to figure it out where to get started. You may count on the tooltips for finding extra information about each built-in parameter.

The tool lets you switch to a full screen mode for a better focus on your work, preview how the label looks like in a dedicated panel, and adjust the size of the label.

CD Cover Plus gives you the possibility to work with multiple layers, upload pictures from your computer (BMP, DIB, GIF, JPG, WMF, EMF, ICO, CUR), drag and drop items to the desired area, send objects to the back or bring them to the front, delete items, choose the background color or add a custom photo, and clear the background with just one click.

When it comes to editing the selected object, you can deform the pictures using special modes (e.g. tile, wave, mirror), undo your actions, embed text messages, apply color filters (e.g. yellow, retro, spooky, unreal, wet paper, flame), invert the colors, apply grayscale effects, darken or brighten pictures, insert borders, lines, and circles, as well as use various filters, such as emboss, engrave, blur, and noise.

Last but not least, you can export the generated label to BMP file format, save it as a template so you can use it in your future projects, and hide or show a virtual CD/DVD form from the workspace.

All in all, CD Cover Plus bundles a decent suite of features but it still needs some improvements in the GUI area to make the process more intuitive.
