Designed for Microsoft SharePoint users looking for plugins to enhance functionality, Email As Attachment is a tool that facilitates a simple interface and practical options for sending multiple files as attachments straight from the SharePoint library.

The program works with SharePoint 2016, 2013 and 2010. It gets quickly installed, with minimum effort on your behalf, and blends well with SharePoint as far as appearance is concerned.

Because Email As Attachment is designed as a workaround to downloading files to the local filesystem to be able to attach them to emails, it creates buttons in ribbon bar for making this happen within a couple of clicks.

There are there important features: sending files as attachments or archives, and downloading items as archives. In the first scenario, Email As Attachment launches Outlook, creates a new mail and attaches the files you specified.

In the second case, it compresses the files before making the attachment, which comes in handy for reducing file size (bypassing the email transfer restriction if necessary) as well as for grouping multiple files into a single archive. In the last case, it creates an archive out of all files and downloads it to your computer.

As far as settings go, you can disable email features for any list, and hide Email As Attachment functions from the list view and ribbon menu (e.g "Send as Archive", "Send as Attachment").

The plugin sports multiple interface languages. We haven't experienced any compatibility issues with SharePoint 2016 during our evaluation.
