FantasyDVD Player Platinum is a software that enables you to play DVD files from the DVD-ROM or hard drive.
The user interface of the program is attractive, although the buttons could have been bigger. Navigating through FantasyDVD Player Platinum can seem confusing at first.
You can load subtitles, adjust forward and backward speed, jump directly to the playing time you have selected, select the movie title or chapter, as well as repeat playing the current title or chapter.
In addition, you can create and organize bookmarks of your favorite scenes from a movie, capture an image, switch to full screen mode, adjust the video and audio effects (e.g. brightness, contrast, gamma, red filter) and change the subtitle language.
You can also change the user interface skin and language, enable autoplay, set the jump interval, change the capture and bookmark directory, select the default DVD language (audio and subtitle), reassign hotkeys, configure subtitle settings, as well as set parental control and file associations.
The program uses a moderate amount of system resources and includes a comprehensive help file. It froze once during our tests (when we attempted to load a DVD file) and we had to restart the application (luckily, FantasyDVD Player Platinum remembers the last position in the video).
Furthermore, if you want to use other processes while a movie is playing in FantasyDVD Player Platinum, you must disable the hotkeys because the program is responsive even if you are using them in another application or on the desktop.
All in all, FantasyDVD Player Platinum is a very good software for playing media files, but it definitely needs some improvements (especially when it comes to hotkeys).
