Fast Protect is an application that enables you to restrict the access of other PC users to important folders by applying password protection. It includes intuitive options that can be easily tinkered with.

There is no installation involved, which makes the program portable. This means that you can copy the downloaded .exe file to a custom location on the disk and just double-click it to launch Fast Protect.

Otherwise, you can keep it stored on a USB flash drive to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous setup. It doesn't change Windows registry settings, create files on the disk without your permission, or need DLLs to run. A simple file deletion is enough to get rid of it.

As far as the interface goes, the tool adopts a small window with a simple design, where you can enter a password and confirm it. Only numbers and letters are accepted, so you cannot use symbols.

It's possible to protect the current directory where the program is placed, or to select any other one. The target folder is immediately encrypted and can be unprotected by entering the correct password.

Worth noting is that you can not only remove the encryption, but also temporarily open the password-protected folder to view contents by creating virtual drives. Apart from the fact that you can integrate the app into the right-click menu for quick access, there are no other notable options available.

It had minimal impact on system performance in our tests, running on a low amount of CPU and RAM. Folders were encrypted and decrypted swiftly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't freeze or crash.

Thanks to its approachable GUI and options, Fast Protect can be handled by all types of users looking to secure their directories.
