FourDesktops uses the built in capabilities of Windows to create three desktops in addition to the one created by default. You may be surprised to learn that in Windows the login screen and the screen saver is also implemented as a desktop. What we usually refer to as the desktop is the 'default' desktop, the Windows login screen is the 'Winlogon' desktop, and the screen saver is named the 'screen-saver' desktop.

The FourDesktops utility program creates three additional desktops and provides extended functionality for switching between, viewing and managing the desktops. This approach allows for the applications needed for different projects and tasks to be separated onto different desktops.

Moreover, programs on one desktop can't force themselves into the foreground or onto another desktop. Each desktop has its own separate taskbar and notification area (system tray). At the same time data from one desktop can be readily transferred to any other desktop, since the desktops share the clipboard. Give FourDesktops a try to fully assess its capabilities!
