MetaX is a lightweight software application built specifically for helping you tag movie formats, such as MP4, M4V, MOV, MKV, WMV, and AVI by grabbing information from various online sources (e.g. IMDB, Amazon, The Movie Database, TheTVDB.com). You tag a movie, an entire season, or a TV show using just a few clicks.

The main window is divided into several smart panels that allow you to quickly perform search operations on various websites, check video information, sorting options, and chapters, view the queue list, as well as keep an eye on the status pane for extra information about your actions.

Videos can be added in the working environment using the built-in browse button, so you cannot rely on drag-and-drop support. What’s more, for each clip added to the list you can choose the category that best describes it, such as movie, TV show, music video, or none. You may set of the aforementioned options as the default ones or use them only for the selected clips.

MetaX allows you to copy tags from one file to another, toggle the check boxes on or off, and write all files from the queue list.

What’s more, you can gather information from the Internet about general details (title, artist, show, date, rating, genre, short and long descriptions, and images), video data (e.g. type, HD, director, producer, album, show, season, episode), and advanced podcasting parameters (e.g. feed and episode URLs, category, comment, keyword, catalog ID).

The tool lets you add the tags for the name, artist, show, album artist, and album, as well as split, merge, rest, or delete chapters. Additionally, you may manually edit the information and upload a custom image from the computer, provided that the file format is JPG, GIF, PNG, or TBN.

MetaX allows you to disable the automatic archiving mode, show movie ratings for the selected countries and clear user created genres, save original files into the Recycle Bin, save cover images, place tagged files in a custom location and delete the original ones, choose the desired order for the online sources, as well as enable the auto-tagging feature.

All in all, MetaX comes packed with a handy suite of features for helping you tag your movies and grabbing metadata and cover images from various online sources.
