Neon Skin Pack is a pack that provides you with a sleek and stylish makeover for the Windows 7 interface, inspired by a neon theme.
It can be easily installed and configured, regardless of the user's level of experience, thanks to the intuitive dock layout.
A system reboot is required after installation is done, in order for the new effects to be applied.
The application affects many visual aspects of the operating system, including the logon image at system startup, start bar, icons, programs background style and mouse cursor.
Neon Skin Pack includes two wallpapers for the desktop. In addition, it places a dock bar on the upper part of the screen which stays on top of other apps.
From here you can quickly access the 'My Computer', 'Control Panel', 'Pictures' and 'Music' locations, along with Windows Media Player and Recycle Bin. But you can also configure dock settings when it comes to the interface language. Plus, you can make the app automatically run at system startup and to minimize windows to the dock, to store settings in a portable initialization file and to lock items.
Furthermore, you can make adjustments to the icons (quality, opacity, size, hover effect, zoom), position (monitor, screen position, layering, centering, edge offset), style (e.g. theme, outline and shadow opacity) and behavior (e.g. icon attention effect, auto-hide, popup on mouse-over). Settings can be restored to their default values.
The theme pack requires a moderate amount of CPU and system memory. It didn't cause the operating system to freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, Neon Skin Pack represents a very interesting alternative to the default Windows 7 interface that certainly gets attention from Windows users.
