Nidesoft DVD Ripper is an application that you can use to encode DVDs to video clips of several formats, including MP4, AVI, WMV and 3GP. It can be used by beginners and experienced individuals alike.

The interface of the program is clean and intuitive. You can import a DVD by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is not allowed.

In the list you can check out the name along with original and trimmed length of the movie. So, all you have to do is specify the output destination and file type, in order to proceed with the encoding job.

Furthermore, you can configure audio and video settings when it comes to the resolution, bit rate and channel mode, as well as preview clips in a built-in media player and take snapshots.

In addition, you can select the audio track and subtitle language, merge videos and trim them by marking the start and end position or values, crop clips, make image adjustments (e.g. saturation, constrast), apply effects (e.g. grayscale), select individual DVD chapters for processing, and others. Settings can be restored to their default values.

The DVD conversion software requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time and quickly finishes a task. We haven't come across any technical difficulties during our testing. On the other hand, there is no help file available and the image and sound quality is not preserved at a good level. We recommend you look for something more advanced than Nidesoft DVD Ripper.
