Power Video Converter is a handy application that enables you to encode, join and split video, as well as extract audio and images.
In the user-friendly interface you can access the main functions on the left side of the window. For example, if you want to convert files, all you have to do is add video clips (drag and drop is not supported), set the output destination and video format, configure settings, and execute the task.
Power Video Converter supports batch converting, and it completes the job pretty fast. Even if you add source files that it cannot recognize, the software moves on to the next ones.
Video output settings include configuring the width, height and frame rate of the video, selecting an audio and video compressor, resizing crop, and more.
Unfortunately, the program froze when trying to convert a FLV file to AVI, and we had to restart it. Moreover, if a task cannot be completed, its status still reads "success", whether the output video doesn't exist or cannot be opened.
When it comes to joining files, Power Video Converter can merge two video files of different extensions and set the output format to various types. However, it failed when we tried joining an AVI and ASF to MOV, for instance..
Furthermore, the feature to split files caused the program to crash once, and we couldn't extract audio from any video file. At least the Extract Images option worked fine.
In conclusion, Power Video Converter really needs to fix its various bugs and crashes, and perhaps make some upgrades when it comes to navigating through the interface.
