REMINDEM is a basic yet useful application created to offer you the means of leaving messages for yourself whenever you boot your computer, making sure you do not forget about important tasks or approaching deadlines.
In what concerns its appearance, the tool displays a simple and slightly underwhelming interface, but this may work to its advantage, particularly in targeting inexperienced individuals.
The main window of REMINDEM groups all of the configuration preferences, allowing you to quickly set up a new message for yourself, automatically saving it once you exit.
The program is capable of leaving reminders for up to three different users, enabling you to select different ones via radio buttons and input their usernames. The default entry, ‘ME’ will display the popup dialog for the current user.
A dedicated text field enables you to enter the contents of the message you wish to leave for yourself, and as far as we were able to determine during testing, there is no character limit, so it can be as lengthy as you need.
The next step consists of choosing the period during which your reminder is necessary. You can pick the start and end dates from dedicated menus, having the option to issue it daily or weekly, in a specific day of the week. You can even extend a task until the next year.
However, a feature which is lacking and could be quite useful is the ability to decide at which time to show the reminder, as it only displays them at Windows startup or once a day, which may not be sufficient for particularly forgetful people or for events occurring at a precise hour.
To conclude, REMINDEM is a handy utility for leaving yourself reminders on the computer, yet it proves rather limited in terms of functionality due to the small amount of tinkering possibilities.
