RoboCopy is a compact gadget that provides users with direct access to the Robocopy command-line found in Windows. This function is known for its excellent copying capabilities, which surpass the built-in copy and xcopy commands of Windows.
Basically, you can use this gadget when you want to increase the speed of a file copying procedure, especially if we're talking about large amounts of data, and if you don't have the necessary experience with command lines to perform this task via a Commant Prompt dialog.
The interface of the gadget is represented by a very small frame with two text dialogs; you can move it to any position on the screen using the mouse cursor.
All you have to do is specify the source and target directory with the help of the tree view, since the drag-and-drop function is not supported. RoboCopy is only able to process entire folders and not individual files, which means it's clearly designed for copying numerous pieces of information.
After starting the copying procedure by clicking a button, you can check out details in a Command Prompt dialog. The task is immediately performed and doesn't cause any errors. The Robocopy function is known for its ability to skip NTFS junction points, tolerate network interruptions and resume copying, and to support multi-threaded copying, among others.
