RoboMind is an educational software which enables you to learn everything about programming and artificial intelligence.

The installation process runs smooth and does not offer to download other third-party products. After you complete it, the interface you are greeted by boasts a simple design, which resembles the one used in Microsoft Office. It is comprised of a tabbed menu bar and two panels: one enables you to write scripts, while the other shows you a map and a small robot that you can control.

In fact, the program also incorporates extensive Help contents, so that everyone can use RoboMind at its full potential, regardless of their level of experience.

The robot can move forward and backwards, paint the floor, pick up objects and put them down, and it can be turned to the right or to the left. Animation speed can be tinkered with, and a remote control is included, so that you can easily make the robot do your bidding.

This software utility encloses many examples of maps and scripts, so that you can learn to control the little robot with great ease. Furthermore, you can use a search function, as well as a find and replace one, undo or redo actions, cut, copy and paste elements, insert predefined command lines, as well as zoom in and out, show or hide the grid and the radar, and track the robot.

Last but not least, it is possible to create screen dumps and save them to the hard drive. A small setback is that you cannot choose the output folder.

All in all, RoboMind proves to be a very efficient piece of software, with many options dedicated to teaching students programming and robotics. It does not put a strain on your computer’s performance, has a good response time and our tests did not reveal any errors or crashes.
