Soundmasker is a simple-to-use program that allows you to generate many types of noise, including white noise. It can be easily figured out, even by less experienced users.

This kind of software can come to the aid of people who need to concentrate, study, sleep, relax or work at the office with the help of white noise, for example.

The interface of the application is plain and rather intuitive; you can generate white, pink, brown, blue and purple noise.

So, you can select some preset sounds, such as 'apartment', 'traffic', 'office', 'night' and 'privacy'. Alternatively, you can make your own adjustments to each noise type when it comes to the volume, frequency and left and right balance.

The project can be saved for further processing or exported to an MP3 or WAV file. Thus, you can create your own audio CD of noise to take everywhere you go. In addition, you can set an alarm and make Soundmasker automatically exit or power off the computer when the alarm time is reached.

From the 'Options' screen, you can choose your preferred sound card, minimize Soundmasker to the system tray area, make it automatically launch at system startup, and hide the splash screen.

The simplistic software tool has a good response time, runs on a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, and delivers audio tracks with a good sound quality. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, as Soundmasker did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, no recent updates have been made.
