Ultra Document To Text ActiveX Component was designed to help advanced computer users such as software developers integrate document conversion capabilities within their applications without considerable efforts.

Users can integrate document conversion controls into applications that are written in ActiveX Component-compatible languages, including Java, Perl, PHP, Visual C++, C++ Builder, Visual Basic, Delphi or .NET.

Among the supported formats users can find PDF, RTF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, HTML, HTM and MHT. The result will always be TXT files and users can also process batch documents.

There is no need for PDF readers or word processors in order for the conversion to work. It features support for command-line operations.

Dragging and dropping is supported, so the end user can choose to make use of the application's traditional menus and buttons (if present) or drag the desired document and drop it on the designated pane in order to specify a source file.

In case the PDFs are made of images of text, Ultra Document To Text ActiveX Component won't be able to perform the conversion operation, since it is detected as being a generic image, regardless of its contents. It is advised to use an OCR system in this scenario.

In case users fail to convert a document, it is recommended that they make sure the document is not already opened by another application.
