Computer customization can result in a completely different visual style of all functions and panels in the operating system. On the other hand, it can simply mean creating a neat slideshow on your background, and in this regard WallOne comes with the means to configure multiple galleries to rotate on your desktop.
The application spends most of its time in the tray area, but it’s a good idea to bring up the main window at first so you can configure picture galleries. Multiple collections can be created and each can contain a custom number of pictures under formats like BMP, JPG, PNG, and GIF.
Pictures are added through the browse dialog, while existing galleries can be found in the tray icon menu for instant changing of the set. Moreover, each collection can be fitted with a custom hotkey command, and the wallpaper is also changed whenever the assigned keys are pressed.
General wallpaper configuration options make it possible to choose the monitor to rotate on, as well as the resolution which can also be set to match screen. Orientation options can be selected to fit according to different specifications, whether to stretch to taskbar, and what color the background to show.
The application also comes with a built-in editor. However, it’s only packed with simple operations, such as zooming, rotating, flipping horizontally and vertically, drawing lines, or cropping. All files are saved on the spot, so be careful what changes you make. By default it’s set to run with Windows so that wallpapers start changing as soon as you reach the desktop.
Taking everything into account, WallOne is a practical alternative to the default method of creating a background slideshow. Multiple galleries can be created and enabled at the press of a button. Even though the set of effects isn’t capable of greatly enhancing pictures, the overall set of operations make it worth your while.
