WinBook Drivers Update Utility is designed to scan your WinBook computer for all installed drivers, identify the outdated ones, and look up the newest version online for downloading and installation. It has intuitive options that make it easy to tackle by inexperienced users.
Setting it up takes minimal time and effort, since there are no special options, required software products, or third-party offers involved. Although this isn't mentioned, it gets integrated into the system autorun lineup, so it runs by default every time you turn on your PC. This can be later deactivated from the settings panel.
As far as the interface is concerned, WinBook Drivers Update Utility adopts a normal window with a simple design and layout, where the app can be asked to scan for drivers about the sound card, webcam, network adapter, USB, routers, printer, wireless network connection, chipset, monitor, video card, Bluetooth, AC97, motherboard, FireWire and DVD, along with Windows XP, Vista and 7.
Once the scanner is over, the program shows the current and newest version of each driver, giving you the possibility to handpick the ones you want to download and install the latest versions for, thanks to the fact that it's capable of carrying out operations for multiple drivers at once.
You can create backups for the current drivers to be able to restore the older versions if Windows stability issues occur, include hidden devices in the scan job, as well as instruct the app to automatically download all newer drivers after scan and to turn off the PC on task completion. Plus, you can remove its entry from the Windows autostart sequence. All settings can be reverted to default.
It carried out tasks swiftly in our tests while remaining light on system resources usage. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash. On the other hand, the demo edition has some severe restrictions that prevent you from properly testing the tool. On top of that, WinBook Drivers Update Utility hasn't received updates for a long time. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself.
