YASA DVD to AVI Converter has a name that pretty much explains its functionality - this software allows you to encode DVDs to the AVI format, but also to MPG, VOB and MP3.

The interface of the program is plain and pretty intuitive. You can import a DVD into the list by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method. Batch processing is not allowed.

In the queue you can check out the original and destination name, along with target profile and duration of each file. Once you specify the output directory and file type, you can proceed with the encoding job.

Furthermore, you can select the audio language and subtitle stream, as well as modify audio and video settings when it comes to the bit rate, frame rate, aspect ratio, sample frequency rate, volume, channel mode and codec, and others.

The DVD conversion software requires a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, includes a very short step-by-step guide for beginners, takes reasonable time to complete a task and keeps a good image and sound quality in the output files. We haven't encountered any problems during our tests. On the other hand, the interface is outdated and you cannot trim clips or select individual DVD chapters for processing. We recommend YASA DVD to AVI Converter with reservations.
