The advent of the concept of plus addressing, or subaddressing in email clients and platforms, has meant that users were able to maintain a far tidier inbox, due to the fact that the concept involves the deployment of unique addresses that act as a sort of extensions of the main address that is associated with one’s account. This means that a certain protection against an influx of unwanted email content can be achieved, therefore yielding a better structure and workflow.

PlusAddressReply is a Microsoft Outlook add-in that was developed specifically in order to enable users who rely on plus addressed messages an automated process with regard to inputting the corresponding address in the “From” field. It will automatically populate the field with the address when replying to messages that were received as dynamic aliases and convert it to a “Reply-To” address.

Basically, when replying to such messages, either with the standard, “Reply” or “Reply All” features, the new or forwarded message will automatically contain the origin address in the “From” field.

This accounts to the fact that the Exchange online does not allow sending via dynamic aliases, and the add-in automatically creates the corresponding “Reply-To” address and rewrites the “From” address after the message has been sent.
