If you've ever wanted to be an animator and you know your way around coding, you might've thought about combining the two in order to create some nice projects on your computer.

Luckily for you, there's a wide range of software solutions that can help you do just that without significant efforts. One of these applications is Artist Code.

As specified above, this application was designed to help you create animations on your computer by simply using code, so you don't need to have mad drawing skills or have any drawing/animation instruments laying around you.

After creating the canvas by importing the image the application is going to start the animation from, you can input your code in the designated section, on the right part of the screen. You can render the scene to see how the animation is going to start by hitting the "Render Scene: 1-1" button.

Once you import the image you want to work with, you'll notice that above the coding section you can access two sections: "Layers" and "Settings." While the former is pretty self-explanatory and easy to comprehend, the latter encompasses several customizable parameters.

For instance, you can set the background to be transparent or otherwise, adjust the antialiasing level from normal to blur, set the frames number and configure a bunch of export options such as setting the background color to be transparent for GIFs or specifying the number of FPS for AVI files.

Artist Code comes with a bunch of example files that you can explore as long as you want before attempting to create a project of your own. All you have to do is load them through the "File" menu, by hitting the "Open Examples" button.

After you finish your projects, you can export the resulting documents to animated GIFs, AVI video files or static images for the current frame or scene (that contains all the frames).

All in all, if you've got some advanced coding skills and would like to use them to create animations, you might want to check Artist Code out. It provides you with anything you need in order to do so, has a bunch of example projects and supports various output formats.
