Ethernet POS comes in handy in situations when you have a non-ethernet printer that might have to be shared as a resource. Thanks to this application, it's possible to turn a USB POS printer into an Ethernet printer.

Ethernet connections use the network to allow the printer to be visible to a computer. Once the connection is configured and the setup is complete, you can use the printer as if it were attached to the PC.

What Ethernet POS does is transform printers that are non-ethernet by default and make the visible throughout the network. It provides full compatibility with some of the most popular printer manufacturers and models, including Epson, Citizen Zebra, CognitiveTPG, Star Micronics, and more.

There are two different connection types you can choose from, namely bidirectional communication using serial, parallel and USB ports, or unidirectional connection. The latter uses the Windows printer by default, allowing you to select the POS printer from a drop-down list.

Ethernet POS can run a TCP server to wait for new connections to the Ethernet virtual printer. It can take over multiple printing requests coming from different sources, prioritizing tasks and creating backups of the printed tickets.

For your convenience, Ethernet POS features a print driver installation wizard that helps you get started with a new printer with just a few clicks.

An extra feature of Ethernet POS is to add older printers that are compatible with ESC/POS commands support for some of the most recent barcode types, such as QR-Code, Aztec, PDF417, DataMatrix, Maxi, and more.

Aside from exposing non-ethernet printers in the network, this application can also connect printers to cloud-based applications  using the http or https protocols.

Running as a Windows service, Ethernet POS is available at all times, so there is no need for you to run it each time you open the PC. And although beginners might not fully understand what this application is used for, more experienced users should enjoy its feature set and its intuitive Configuration window.
