Catching all cyber-threats before they do any damage on the system is not guaranteed by any any antivirus developer but running a security product does lower the risk of getting infecting.

Fermose Antivirus is a simple protection tool with few configuration options. Installing it does not require too much input from the user but at the end of the procedure a computer restart is required for all the changed to take effect, and the option is checked by default.

The interface is plain and simple and offers access to all the areas of the application, from the scan menu to quarantine and the configuration panel. All the menus run down in the right part of the screen.

As in most programs of the same feather, there are three scan options, which allow a quick verification of the system by checking the running processes and items loaded in the memory, a full scan of the computer and the possibility to customize the check for certain locations only.

The configuration panel in Fermose Antivirus does not hold too many options but allows tweaking of the scanning settings and enabling the heuristic function for more accurate results.

Also available is the possibility to scan removable drives automatically and enable a context menu function for files and folders.

During our tests came up with plenty of false positive results that could affect the system stability and performance if removed.

Fermose Antivirus does not integrate the layers of protection available in the modern security products that are actively developed; also, a plenty of legitimate items were erroneously labelled as suspicious. On the upside, it goes easy on system resources during the scan operation.
