Identifying differences when dealing with multiple text files or even other formats in several directories can be a real challenge if one wishes to perform the task manually. Florencesoft TextDiff was developed to offer users a way of quickly and efficiently determining differences when comparing two text files or even contents in two directories altogether.

The application’s interface features a dual text entry layout that offers one the ability to input the original text in the upper section and the modified one in the lower one. Dragging-and-dropping is also supported, and during our tests, we found this to increase efficiency considerably.

When comparing the inputted content, the application will automatically detect and highlight the differences and users have access to a customizable legend for the colors used to enhance the differences.

Besides its main functionality, comparing text or XML files, the app also carries a feature for comparing the contents of two separate directories. Its dedicated tool will detect the differences in the two selected directories and will display a detailed listing.

For those who require even more tweaking and adjustment in terms of how the application highlights the changed text sections, additional options such as strike-through or underline can also be selected for the identification.

Forget where you might have spotted changes and make sure of their occurrence with this app that offers semi-automatic detection of modifications in text or XML files. Furthermore, comparing different directories for identifying the differences is also supported, enabling users to keep track of the contents of their repositories with far greater efficiency.
