GoPro Hero and DJI Recovery is a tool designed to help you restore videos that are corrupt or that have been accidentally deleted from the SD memory card. The app is capable of recovering photos, audio or sound files as well as videos in WAV, MP4, GPR and LRV formats.
Following a quick and uneventful setup, you are prompted to select the drive volume where you normally store the videos and press the Recover All Files button to start the restoration process. At this point, the camera proceeds to scan and check for data that can be salvaged, an operation that is done automatically.
You will be happy to learn that the videos that can be restored are going to start showing up as thumbnails, however, the app does not save them. You can check out the videos that can be restored in the log along with other information, such as size, date and frame details.
In addition, the app displays the number of fragments that make the videos, so that's why the process can be quite lengthy. Depending on the size of the SD card and the amount of data on it, the entire process can take up to a few hours.
It is worth mentioning that the app works with several DJI drone cameras, including DJI Mavic Pro, DJI Spark or DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise. Moreover, it supports several Canon cameras, such as Canon Powershot SX600, Canon EOS and Canon Vixia. According to the developer, the tool can also work with other cameras like INavi Z500 Plus, Panasonic DMC-FZ1000, Nokia N86 or Sony PMW-F3.
In the eventuality that you drop or crash the camera, accidentally delete, use inappropriate software, the battery died or the chip formatted, then you can consider using GoPro Hero and DJI Recovery to recover your videos.
