Once processed, the information can be exported to an electronic filing system or enterprise document management solution. Indexes can be produced by recognizing data embedded in one or two dimensional bar codes that users create within MS Word or other word processing programs.

After installation, there is minimal configuration required to capture images, recognize index values, and export data. GoScan periodically watches a "hot folder" where images have been deposited.
