iLead DVD Ripper Platinum is a program designed to help you convert DVD videos to various video types, such as MP4, AVI, FLV and MPG.

But it can also extract the audio stream and store it as AAC, MP4, M4A and others, as well as prepare items for PSP, PS3, Zune and Xbox, among other devices.

The tool is wrapped in a clean and intuitive interface. DVD videos can be imported via the folder view. It is possible to process multiple DVD videos in a single session.

So, you can check out the title, source and output destination, target type, progress, along with elapsed and remaining time of each DVD video. If you are satisfied with the default settings, then you can start the encoding operation after specifying the output profile and directory.

Otherwise, you can make audio and video modifications in regard to the encoder, tag, bit rate, frame rate, size, frequency, channel mode, aspect ratio and volume level. Unfortunately, you cannot create output profiles or restore settings to default.

Additionally, you can split videos, select the audio stream and subtitle language, as well as preview clips in a built-in media player and crop them. In the "Settings" area you can change the default output directory and interface language, as well as set iLead DVD Ripper Platinum to deinterlace videos while ripping them and to automatically turn off the computer once all tasks are done.

The DVD ripping tool requires a high amount of system resources in order to finish a task in reasonable time. It has a good response time, includes a help file and delivers a good image and sound quality. We haven't come across any issues throughout our testing. On the downside, you cannot specify the thread priority or minimize iLead DVD Ripper Platinum to the system tray.
