movito is an easy to use software solution that can help users organize and keep track of their movie collection. The application enables users to create virtual movie collections starting from multi-media files on their local hard drive and using information retrieved from Internet movie databases such as IMDb and TMDb.

The main window of the application enables users to create and browse their movie collections. These can be created manually by adding media from the users' machines or by importing movie lists from TMDb or IMDb. This is done by providing the application with the relevant URL. Users also have the option of sharing their lists with friends online or backing up their database.

Once such a list is created, users can click it in order to begin browsing the titles within. The application displays a lattice of thumbnailed movie posters and beneath it, information regarding the collection, such as number of movies, total runtime, disk space occupied by the collection, and tags or genres contained within.

Movies can be further organized by several criteria including genre, year or series and sorted or shuffled.

Clicking or selecting one of these thumbnails enables users to view further information regarding that individual title, such as cast and crew, ratings, tags, genres, synopsis, year, awards, etc.

As mentioned before, most of the information is automatically retrieved from online databases, but users can easily add various custom tags to each movie or collection.

The application provides users with two means of sharing their collections.

Individual lists can be exported as HTML files or by using the program's built-in sharing function. Users can also add tags to certain movies to remind them of the fact that they want to share that movie with someone.

This software solution provides users with a simple, handy and convenient way of creating and managing or organizing their movie collections. Its built-in functions which enable it to automatically grab movie information from the Internet can help users save a lot of time, especially when dealing with large collections.
