Accidents may happen anytime, anywhere, and sometimes they will even happen at work. As much as employers try to ensure the safety of their workers, companies that are active in possibly dangerous fields (like construction or chemistry) may have to use so-called safety scoreboards.

The purpose of such a sign is to remind all the employees that safety comes first, while also displaying how many days have passed since the last work-related incident. These personalized warning signs can be physical score boards, or they can just be computer programs, like Safety Scoreboard.

With the Safety Scoreboard app, you don’t have to place oversized boards on walls for all your employees to see. You could instead display the safety reminder on large TV screens inside a company’s building (that can alternatively be used for displaying other information) or, in smaller offices, the reminder could just be placed on a medium-sized computer monitor.

With that being said, the app can be useful for companies of any size that require this type of scoreboard displayed as a part of their standard safety procedures. Physical safety scoreboards can be pretty costly, since they have to be large, customized and also feature a digital day tracker. So having an app that can be displayed on multiple monitors can be a way to reduce costs.

The program’s interface should, first and foremost, be visible and readable to everyone; while Safety Scoreboard doesn’t fail in this category, it’s not really the best looking app. You can change the background and text colors (as well as the text itself), but there isn’t really anything else you can customize.

You can’t choose between any fonts, nor arrange the way that the messages are displayed. Unfortunately, the standard text display can lead to awkward reading patterns that may take an unfamiliar employee more than a few seconds to understand. Furthermore, Safety Scoreboard has a Multi Location setting that allows you to display information from different places in a company. However, you can only customize three locations, no more, no less.

While Safety Scoreboard does its job and can be useful in a work environment, it’s far from being the best app of its kind.
