Shop'NCook Menu is a feature-rich and intuitive program that comes in handy for everyone who wants to add, organize and manage various recipes and shopping lists at the same time.

The application is wrapped in a well-organized and accessible layout divided into a tree view on the left side of the panel, a file viewer and editor, and two individual tabs with a calendar and library. The database is split into different sections, like cookbooks, shopping lists, menus and supermarkets, each contains distinct categories.

When the app is run for the first time, a setup wizard is displayed that leads you through a few important steps to help you create the database properly. You have to select the interface language from English, French, Italian and German, the main unit system (US, metric) and if you wish to import data from the computer or make a new one from scratch.

A cookbook can have an unlimited number of recipes, can be added from the quick toolbar, and comes with a simple word processor. There are no formatting options to customize the text, such as font types, sizes and styles. When inserting a new entry you have to input a relevant title, language, corresponding category (e.g. appetizer, soup, dessert), source, along with the number of servings and preparation and total time.

Plus, you can add all the necessary ingredients by entering the quantity, name, optional comment and descriptive pictures. The components can be introduced in the shopping lists as well. The program comes with a large recipe database from where you can pick and add records to the main menu and ingredients to the shopping section.

If you have preferred supermarkets, it's possible to insert them in your personal index, by inputting the name, address, city, country and type. For each element, the app lets you write the total amount of calories, protein, fiber, sugars and minerals. The data can be exported to SCX, MMF, HTML and plain text files.

The bottom line is that Shop'NCook Menu is a reliable and user-friendly utility designed for both novices and cooking experts to add, arrange and handle multiple cookbooks with various recipes, as well as create customized shopping lists.
