Using the bandwidth more efficiently in order to improve the connection speed can generally be achieved by tweaking some settings.

SpeedNet has been created to assess the current configuration of the system and enable the right options to optimize the connection and load web pages faster.

The application can be easily installed but the process is fragmented by steps that require user attention. However, carrying out the task is far from being difficult.

The interface is simple and intuitive, with menus running down in the left hand part of the application window. Completing most of the tasks is done through built-in wizards that guide the user through the entire process.

SpeedNet offers the possibility to optimize the connection automatically by taking into consideration the ISP (Internet service provider), the connection type and the operating system.

An interesting feature available in the program is SpeedCache, which is designed to load web pages in the background and place then in the browser’s cache folder so that they load faster when the user accesses them.

More advanced users can customize the settings themselves from the configuration panel of the application.

It comprises options for accelerating file downloads, enabling the SpeedCache feature with specific web browsers and for customizing various parameters relating to connections.

It also includes options for configuring the download acceleration by allowing the user to define a default download location and preset folders based on file type.

Handling SpeedNet is easy, even for a less experienced user, thanks to the built-in wizards; but it is also suitable for the more seasoned as it provides plenty of customization options.

On the other hand, it has been created for older operating systems and it may not do any good on newer versions of Windows.
