Whether you are navigating online or working on your personal projects on a computer, there are activity traces that you leave behind. Your footprints can be easily intercepted and, what's more, the generated temporary files might end up cluttering the system if not for the much-needed periodical maintenance operation.

Designed to take care of both the activity evidence and the unnecessary files stored on your PC, WinBrush can tick a few boxes when it comes to cleaning up your PC and making sure it runs at top performance.

The tab-based interface makes WinBrush very easy to operate. While it would be probably easier for a beginner user to go through the steps of a wizard, a more experienced one should appreciate the enhanced control this application offers. There are various settings that can be tweaked manually by simply ticking check boxes.

To begin with, WinBrush can delete Windows activity traces. For instance, it can erase the documents history, the list of recently accessed files, including Office ones, the search history, temporary files and empty the Recycle Bin for you.

As for browsers, the application provides support for Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera, each having its own dedicated tab, with lots of other tick boxes to go through. It's easy to clear the browser's history, the cache, the cookies, and the temporary files it generated, the address bar suggestion list, and the autocomplete records. However, note that the application has not been updated in a long while and, therefore, it cannot be used to clean data related to other browsers.

If brought up-to-date to match today's requirements, WinBrush would be a handy computer maintenance tool. It can certainly do its job using the limited feature set it comes with and it could surely serve older operating systems, but there is no doubt that there are many other alternatives out there that could the same, and even better.
