WinX Free DVD to DivX Ripper is an application with a title that perfectly describes its functionality - it allows you to encode DVDs to the DivX format. The tool can be used by rookies and experienced individuals alike.

The interface of the program is clean and pretty intuitive. You can import a DVD by selecting its source from the dropdown list or by using the treeview (the "drag and drop" method is not supported). Batch processing is not allowed.

In the queue you can check out the title, audio and video properties, duration and output of the DVD. Once you establish the output destination, you can proceed with the encoding job.

Furthermore, you can configure audio and video settings when it comes to the format, quality, sample frequency rate, channel mode, volume, frame rate, resolution and aspect ratio. In addition, you can select the audio track and subtitle language, preview clips in a small, built-in media player and take snapshots, as well as trim videos by marking the start and end position.

The DVD processing tool takes up a moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and delivers a fair image and sound quality. Unfortunately, there is no help file available. We recommend WinX Free DVD to DivX Ripper with some reservations.
