Cisco CDP Monitor is a simple-to-use program which allows you to overview and diagnostic networks. It can be used by network administrators and engineers, for instance.

The interface of the application is plain and simple to work with. So, you can check out the ID, type, port ID, CDP IP address, software version, platform, native VLAN status, TTL (Time To Live) and VTP management domain (VLAN Trunking Protocol) for each connected device.

By opening the context menu, you can delete a selected neighbor or all of them, while on the bottom part of the screen, you can check out event details (type, date, time).

The CDP list can be exported to file for further analysis. Cisco CDP Monitor integrates several setup properties regarding the CDP NIC, CDP data (hello and held timer, device ID, platform, OS version), executable file (parameters), email (e.g. SMTP server and port number), email data (subject, body), and others (e.g. notifications, log filename).

The application requires a low amount of CPU and system memory, so it shouldn't put a strain on your computer's performance. It has a good response time and supports keyboard shortcuts. We have not encountered any errors during our testing and Cisco CDP Monitor did not freeze or crash. However, there is no help file available; Cisco CDP Monitor is mainly addressed towards users with experience in network protocols.
