PowerAG is a personal organizer whose purpose is to help you create an address book where you can store information about contacts.
The GUI provides quick access to the main features of the program which are grouped into different categories, namely Contacts, Email/SMS, Tools, Payments, Schedule, and Settings. Each of the aforementioned parameters comes with its own set of options.
The layout is not particularly intuitive and easy to work with so you may need to invest some extra time in order to learn how to work with it.
The tool provides access to a dashboard where you can place an analogue clock, search engine, and calculator. The gadgets can be moved to the desired position in the working environment.
A new contact can be introduced in the database by providing information about name, personal details (e.g. birthday date, country, address, phone number, ZIP), and fiscal data (e.g. IBAN, bank name).
In addition, you can associate one or more files to the selected contact, insert payment values, and assign an image (e.g. BMP, PNG, ICO) to each contact.
PowerAG lets you generate a list with contacts which can be printed or exported to TXT, XLS, CSV, HTML, PDF, DOC, XML, or RTF file format.
What’s more, you are allowed to perform searches throughout the entire database, send emails or SMS, generate a phone book, mailing and SMS list, manage loans, as well as schedule events.
PowerAG gives you the possibility to open several Windows utilities, like Calculator and Notepad, work with a tax code calculator, find city or ZIP code, keep track of passwords, maintain a city database, and verify VAT numbers.
You can automatically back up the database at a custom number of days, delete old backups after a certain time, and compress the database. The program lets you password-protect the information, create multiple users, and set up permissions for each user.
The application eats up CPU and memory so if you do not own a powerful computer, your system performance may be hampered.
All things considered, PowerAG accommodates several handy features for helping you manage your address book and contacts. However, GUI improvements are needed in order to make the entire process more intuitive.
