Scan2Encrypt bundles a series of functions which allow you to capture images, create encrypted PDFs and share files with a few mouse clicks. The application can acquire the images from the selected input device, edit them, then save them as PDF, with or without encryption.

Scan2Encrypt allows you to acquire the pictures, save them as PDF, then directly share them via email or Dropbox. You can select either a scanner or a webcam as input picture capturing devices, from the Settings menu in Scan2Encrypt. The software can use scanners in dialog or silent mode and supports devices with TWAIN interface.

You can capture several images by manually operating the designated button, so you can switch the documents or adjust the webcam between snapshots. The application features several filters which it can apply directly to the live feed. Moreover, you can merge the several pictures you acquired into a multi-page PDF.

The built-in OCR system is dedicated to converting a scanned image to an editable text file. Scan2Encrypt incorporates a Tesseract-based OCR engine, which allows it to accurately transform pictures to text.

Before saving the result, you may encrypt the PDF, using the available methods: AES 256-bit or 128-bit, RC4, or simple 40-bit encryption. Moreover, you can set separate passwords for opening/changing the document and configure the blocked features.

Thus, you may enable or disable printing, changing the document, copying/extraction, adding comments. Optionally, if you choose the RC4 encoding method, you can also set permission for form fill-in, content accessibility, document assembly and high resolution printing. Alternatively, you may add no encryption.

Scan2Encrypt allows you to preview the pages of the document you are about to save/send over the Internet. The follow-up actions include saving the PDF to your computer, sending it straight to Dropbox or sharing it via email, to the selected addresses. You need to connect to Dropbox, respectively configure the email service, in order to share the file.
